Construction activity
As part of the construction works at the Point of Ayr Terminal, there will be concrete pouring activities taking place inside the Terminal boundary from Monday 2 February to Friday 6 February.
Pouring will occur during normal working hours (08:00–18:00). However, finishing works will continue until midnight on two evenings this week. Residents may notice increased lighting during this time, though noise levels will be kept to a minimum and no deliveries will take place outside standard hours.
Invasive non-native plants clearing works
Cotoneaster clearing works are scheduled to begin on the Point of Ayr Colliery from Monday 2 February. The affected area will be fenced off to safely manage the removal of invasive non-native plants.
Warren Farm activity
There will be an increase in activity at Warren Farm from Monday 2 February. During this phase, residents may notice more vehicle movements in and out of the area, alongside construction noise during working hours. Large vehicles will use the Gas Terminal access road before crossing Station Road into Warren Farm, to minimise traffic impact on Station Road.
These works form part of the early PoA Cable Route Foreshore Works, which include the installation of new electric and fibre-optic cables between the PoA Terminal and the New Douglas Offshore CCS Platform.
